Hi,
I am Andreas and I am an experimental photographer from Sydney, Australia. I live surrounded by a National Park and the be Illawarra coast. The seed for photography was initially planted by my grandfather, who always carried a camera in his pockets. Being a lifelong swimmer i decided to take my camera into the water. In my images I seek to capture unseen moments reflecting on all its beauty but also exploring the less obvious.
My photography
My photography is and has always been evolving. All of my images are Exclusively created using traditional photography techniques, I enjoy solving problems and thinking outside the box, which leD me to develop my first water housing and strobe lighting solutions. There are many solutions and Ideas I am still looking forward to apply in and outside of the water. Over time I have taught myself many strobe lighting techniques that I am going to apply in future projects. I am motivated to create the image that hasn’t been taken before.
Whilst this sounds very technical, I can only capture emotion by truly becoming one with my environment. Most of the moments I have experienced, I haven’t captured, and it these moments that you take away and appreciate the most. I am out most mornings and I can’t put into words being able to see the coastline come to life in slow motion, and it has a different face every time. It is more than a humbling experience to be in the water, feeling the cold and becoming one with your surroundings. most days you just take it all in and appreciate the beauty around you.
